PRINCE ARMORY

This info will be expanded upon when time allows but for now, here is a brief overview on commissioning a project.

Fast Track Inquiry Process

  • Send an email to Samuel@PrinceArmory.com, that's me and I handle all the custom inquiries and designs currently.
  • Include a description of what you want, include images and sketches if possible
  • Give me a general theme to go on if you don't have anything specific in mind. I generally prefer to make my own custom designs anyway so this is certainly no problem.
  • For wearable items, include some general stats like height, weight, basic measurements and a photo if possible.
  • Give me an idea of your budget for your project and know that payment plans are acceptable.

Consider these tips to help expedite your requests and save time.

  • Quotes and consultations are free, sketches are free they are now only granted to serious clients with a deposit toward their project. Sorry, but free unconditional sketches were abused in the past.
  • Please view the Pricing Info page for to get a general idea on what to expect for cost.
  • If you know exactly what you want, go ahead and send an inquiry with as much detail as possible, some basic measurements and/or a photograph standing straight and facing the camera. And I'll reply back with a quote or more questions if I have any.
  • If you do not know exactly what you want, start by giving me a brief concept or general direction of what you're after and set a budget if you have one in mind and I'll spend time with you to figure out what will best suit you.
  • Avoid vague inquiries similar to the following: "Hey, can you make dragon armor for me? If so, how much?" This kind of question is too vague to answer. The only answer I can really give is "Yes, and, it depends."
  • Set a budget and decide if its firm or flexible.
  • If you are on a restricted budget, decide if you would rather have fewer ornate pieces, or more pieces but less ornate. Example: A basic set of armor with many pieces for $1500, or a elaborate breasplate and pauldron set for $1500
  • Decide which parts of the armor you'd like.
  • If you have any ideas already in mind, be sure to present them in your first inquiry.
  • Think about what your color preferences are.
  • Where will it be used? Just for show and conventions?  Role play or SCA combat? etc.
  • What sort of impression do you want the spectators to relay upon seeing you equipped in your new set of armor or costume?
  • Think of some keywords to describe your future set like good, evil, sinsiter, sleek, larger than life, etc.
  • Anything you can't think of, don't worry about it.
  • You can also look through my DeviantArt Gallery and past work examples and then tell me what parts you like or dislike of the various designs. This process isn't to pick which past armor you want made for you, but it will help me get a more intuitive feel for what will suit you best.
  • Sometimes a client will come to me and all they know is that they want to look cool for a convention.  This is completely fine and I'll work with you to create something that will suit you and impress the onlookers.
  • If you do not hear back from us, it is not intentional - even the worst inquries get a courtesty 'Thank you but not interested' reply so try resubmitting your inquiry. And don't be hesitant to follow up any time. Odds are you will be dealing with me, or one of a small handful of others; no faceless corporation here; and we are happy to update you on your project and discuss any potential project you may have.
