PRINCE ARMORY

Pricing Info. I will put together a more comprehensive guide soon but I will include a general overview below for now. Also, browse our 'Past Work' and other products to help get a feel for pricing.

  • Factors of determining cost:
  • Complexity - A simple armor design might consist of one simple square plate, a more complex design might consist several overlapping square plates. A complex design might consist of a single elaborately shaped armor plate, and an even more complex design would include overlapping complexly designed individual plates.
  • Detail - Detail is sort of an overarching term but what I mean here is when extra effort is put into the piece to make it ever increasingly better. It can be border lines, custom tooling, special dying, varies border detailing, overlays, filigrees, carvings, etc.
  • Art - Custom designed art is an additional cost that does affect the price considerably. It can be stylized designs, or advanced figures or any spectrum of art that you wish to be incorporated into your designs.
  • Materials and Hardware - Only quality materials are used in our products so our base cost to produce is already on the higher end, but that’s ok because you're here for quality. But even so, there are options of additional hardware like elaborate buckles, studs, rivets, conchos, adornments as well as special ordered exotic leathers that are available to be used in your project.

So, when anticipating inquiring about a quote on custom armor, keep in mind factors like how many parts a set consists of, how complex, how much tooling is involved, how much extra details are present and so on.

“I want a custom suit.  How much does it cost?”
Well, that is akin to asking 'how much does a car cost' while adding the complexity of having every individual part of every make and model on hand. The simple answer?  Pretty much as much as you want to spend.
We do it all here, from full sets, to individual components, to accessories and weaponry, so there’s definitely no simple answer. But in efforts to simplify this somewhat, there are some basic classifications: Economy, Standard, Monarch, and Imperial, Masterwork

Leather Armor Suit Ballpark Pricing:

  • Economy – Pricing undetermined; economy grade is a test area for us at the moment.  We want to provide some interesting designs that are up to our quality standards, but at a bargain bin price.  This is very difficult for genuinely hand crafted items using great materials, but we’re working on it.

  • Standard – Expect from $500 to $2000 for standard design items.  This prices reflect items that are already designed and are ready to order at any time, as well as potentially having some sets in stock and ready to ship.  Full custom orders for standard level items are not always accepted but special requests and upgrades are welcome.

  • Monarch – Generally from $1500, to $3500.  This level entails the next step up from standard stock items and is where you start getting into the more personalized designs.  This level of detail is already far above the very vast majority of anything else you will ever see at any event like renaissance festivals and conventions.

  • Imperial – From $3000 on up into the 5 digit range .  This for the truly unique and most impressive designs with enormous amounts of detail throughout.  If you’re looking to really push the envelope of what is possible with armor creations

-Masterwork – Price by inquiry. Private stock museum grade.  The rarest and most exclusive in high end custom works of wearable art or luxury home décor.

See the Product Grades page for more info on our product classifications.

Summary
So in the briefest of estimations a custom full suit will probably cost at least $2500, but probably $3500 for something really personalized, and it goes up from there depending just how complex and detailed you want it.  If that is too much, consider some available standard designs or economy items.

Weapon Pricing:

At this time we do not have a selection of ready to buy weapons of any kind and they are avialable by custom order only. There are too many weapon possibilities to mention them all but pricing on a custom sword using spring steel or stainless might start out at a few hundred, and a gem encrusted heavily detailed piece with damascus might end up being in the $10,000+ range so again it depends on just how elaborate you wish the piece to be.

Other Pricing

Pricing on things like pouches, coats, wallets, garmets, belts, accessories and such will simply depend on how much detail you desire. With all things we have the ability to design and create an infinite variety of items. If a thing is more detailed, or uses more costly materials, the price goes up and thats simply the way it is. But even so, we do our best to offer a great value at any price point.
